Day 1 - Departure day

From the maps I saw online I thought Sydney downtown was super huge. Turns out it's quite manageable to explore with just 2 days (if you walk as fast as I do).  Time to pack up the hotel room and make my way down to the cruise ship terminal so the next leg of this adventure can begin.

Next to Hong Kong, boarding the ship today was the quickest and easiest of all the ports I've sailed from. From showing up at the terminal to walking into my room was no more than 30 minutes (that includes a stop at Customs).

The crowds already waiting to go in
I mean, what's going on here?
Cabin 1690, huge long room

At the beginning of this blog I mentioned I snagged my cabin last minute. On a sailing from Florida you could never get a high-deck, aft cabin within a few weeks of sailing. I had a feeling it'd be a beautiful view to witness from it but I had no idea it would be like this.

Another reminder of just how small the world is... the couple next to me are from Oceanside. Tomorrow we'll explore more of the ship. For now, time to unpack and spend time in my hammock enjoying the view as we sail away.  Goodnight Sydney.
