Someone knew we were coming to town because this morning the heat and more impressive, the humidity, is through the roof. It's probably 85 degrees with 95% humidity. Lautoka is a small container port. Everything you want to do is a minimum of an hour away. Since we didn't get in until after 12pm I'm going to pass on any excursion and just explore the "downtown".
You can just make out overwater bungalows
Beautiful but could you keep your sanity on such a small island?
This area is a series of tiny sandbar islands
Another day at the office
You'll see just how small this port is. For anyone that cruises a bunch, this may be the first port that I've not seen a Diamond's International. Some of you chuckled at that observation.
Really secure front gate
The 'interstate'
Their payphone booths
I'd be ok living there
Random local's vendor fair
The amazing things they did with wood
Never had an idea this was a Muslim country. Lots of Indian folks here
I followed the cast to see where they got food, they made a b-line to McD
Prices are a little steep. $17 for a 10-piece nugget large combo
